New IT-bio collaboration between India and Finland

On September 11th the minister of IT and biotechnology of the Karnataka state in India, and the Finnish ambassador, signed a memorandum of understanding to form an innovation corridor between Karnataka and Finland. The innovation corridor will foster collaboration in science, research, innovation and startups, focusing on information technology and biotechnology. Pasi Kankaanpää from Turku BioImaging (third from left) participated in the signing ceremony upon invitation of the embassy, as a representative of biotechnology and bioimaging. Also the management of Nokia India were represented in the event, which signifies mutual understanding of the importance of international collaboration, and provides new opportunities for both academia and industry. New connections between Karnataka and Turku BioImaging have already been formed as a result of the event.
